About Kristen
Cofounder and Executive Director of BlackYarn Inc., Kristen LaRue Bond is a native of the Lexington area and was raised in a family with deep ties to the community & public service. She is a proud graduate of Fisk University, Belmont University, & the University of Kentucky. Currently, Kristen is a REALTOR® with the K&D Team at Guide Realty. She started her career in real estate in 2018 with her husband Darryl Bond Jr., they are passionate about serving & giving back to the community in which they were raised. Most recently Kristen, initiated the resurgence of the local chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers. As past president of NAREB of Central KY, Kristen increased chapter membership through engaging events & outreach opportunities, that cater to the needs of real estate professionals and the community. Through 2024 she also serves as chair of the Diversity Committee with Bluegrass REALTOR®. Aside from real estate, Kristen serves as a consultant & advocate for businesses and organizations throughout Lexington. Currently, for 2024 Kristen is working as the executive producer of a documentary film focused on the history of black land & wealth; along with many other developing projects throughout the community.
